Hello! My name is Randy, and I used to weigh 274 pounds with about 44% body fat and had to take two breaths to tie each shoe. Yeah, being unhappy was an understatement. Today, I am 194 pounds with about 9% body fat and feel like a million bucks. I made a decision to start caring about myself and haven’t looked back ever since.
If it happened to me, it can happen to you. You see, a friend talked me into joining a fitness boot camp with him, and it literally changed my life. I didn’t want to do it at first, but I did. I went through a total and complete transformation. My instructor taught me how to believe in myself again. With a little hard work, dedication, determination, and consistency I became a new man.
The boot camp made such an impact on my life that I decided to make a profession out of it. Now I am able to give back what was freely given to me and make huge differences in people’s lives. I cannot express in words how good it actually feels to see people’s self esteem and confidence levels skyrocket as a direct result of them letting Brown’s Boot Camp help them. Physical fitness is so crucial in living a better quality life, not to mention longevity. Today, I live life to the fullest and have enough energy to do whatever I want (even keeping up with my beautiful young wife & 2 kids)!
I instruct 4 boot camps in Oro Valley and teach power yoga as well. Maybe you are not as out of shape as I was, but if you are not happy with your level of fitness, Brown’s Boot Camp can and will make a difference in your life if you let them. Hi! My name is Mindy. I joined Brown’s Boot Camp in June 2009 after spending the better part of the past 17 years being overweight and out of shape. I decided it was time to take my power back and it really changed my life. I have lost over 104 pounds of body fat and am still tightening and toning. I am so excited to be in a position to be able to help others achieve their fitness goals. I instruct 3 fitness boot camps in the Tucson area. Hi! My name is Helen and I have been with Randy at Brown’s Boot Camp since November of 2009. Since joining, I’ve lost 40 pounds of scale weight which translates to more than 75 pounds of body fat. I’ve gone from 44% body fat to 26% and will get to 20% before 2011 passes.
Since my mid-twenties, I have lost and gained anywhere from 20-60 pounds so many separate times that I’ve lost count. I was an athlete through high school but after graduation (MANY years ago) I was more interested in the party life than sports. Then, about 15 years ago, I became an “event” athlete. That is, I enjoyed a decent level of fitness when I trained for a specific event (such as a half or full marathon). But once the event was completed I would resume a more sedentary lifestyle, punctuated by horrible eating habits, too much caffeine, not enough sleep, too much work, etc. It was all a part of my health and fitness cycle of dysfunction. I was getting older and I knew I needed a change…
Enter Randy Brown. Since joining Brown’s Boot Camp, I have trained for and completed another half marathon as well as trained for and completed the full 109 mile El Tour de Tucson in November of 2010. I still enjoy training for and completing events. The difference is that I now have a “staple” fitness program. No matter what single event for which I train, during the training and after I complete the event, attending Brown’s is the biggest part of maintaining my overall great health and fitness.
It is my plan to reach my goal weight by July of 2011. It will take determination and discipline over the long haul to keep the pounds off. But my chances of success are dramatically increased because of the improved mental, physical, and spiritual health I’ve achieved as a result of making Brown’s Boot Camp a part of my life.
Days are passing. Time is marching on. Stop making excuses and come take YOUR power back, HOOHAH? HOOHAH!!

Hello, my name is Jennifer. I started Brown’s Boot Camp back in November of 2010. Through Randy’s program I have lost over 70 lbs of scale weight and 8” off my waist. I went from 43% body fat to 28%. I am wearing sizes that I haven’t worn since I was a sophomore in high school! I am able to run, do pushups and sit ups and not be out of breath.
I have struggled with my weight since my early teens. I have never been the “athletic” type. I have tried all of the crazy fad diets out there, gym membership, buying a treadmill, and any diet and exercise infomercial you see on T.V at 3 a.m. Nothing worked!! I failed over and over. I was discouraged and unhappy with myself. I made excuses for reasons why I could not lose weight and be healthy. I had all but given up until a friend of mine told me about Randy and Brown’s Boot Camp. I was skeptical because I had failed at everything else, I never stuck with anything. How would this be any different?
It was! After each camp I felt a little stronger and more empowered. I was finally able to feel in control of my fitness goals along with other aspects of my life. I started seeing changes in me, and not just the physical ones. I was feeling more confident, positive attitude, and happier. Randy believed in me until I could believe in me. Now I can’t imagine Brown’s Boot Camp not being a part of my life.

ANGELA GEYER
My name is Angela Geyer and It’s my pleasure to welcome you to Brown’s Boot Camp. I came to Brown’s Boot Camp in January of 2010, overweight and with low self esteem. I was new to Arizona and was looking for a way to meet people of like interests and to get into shape once and for all. I had always lived an active lifestyle, “worked out” and ate healthy, yet I persisted in continuous yo-yoing with my weight. This is something that I battled since early middle school.
Little did I know, that the phone call I made to Randy Brown back in Jan of 2010 would change my life. Through Randy, his team and fellow campers, I was able to quickly, yet safely, loose 40 pounds and better yet, I’ve kept it off. Not only that, but I’ve met absolutely wonderful people that I now call friends. These friends provide an astounding support system for everyone within the camp and we all are there for each other through all types of life’s obstacles.
It’s quite possible that we may have already spoken to each other, as I’m part of the administration team behind Brown’s Boot Camp and I assist in answering the phones. VANESSA VAZQUEZ

Hi! My name is Vanessa and I have been with Randy at Brown’s Boot Camp since November 2010. My initial reason for joining Brown’s Boot Camp was my son Joe. At the time, he was only 15 years old, weighting over 230 pounds. He did a few sports but they did not help with his weight. After four months of working out only three times a week and improving his eating habits, Joe lost over 50 pounds. His confidence and self esteem improved so much.
I was 136 pounds and I am only 5’1” feet tall. I lost over 20 pounds and went from 39% body fat to 24%. The biggest improvement was my waist line. I went from a size 8-6 to a size 2-0.
I was a long distance runner for over 10 years while living in the San Francisco Bay Area and after moving here I had a hard time adjusting to weather so I stopped running. Then, I got Rheumatic Fever. It destroyed my immune system. I received penicillin shots for more than 3 years. I had to boost my immune system with a healthy diet and destress myself. I practiced Yoga for 5 years but didn’t do any cardio exercises. I was terrified of germs due to my illness so using the gym machines was out of the question. Brown’s Boot camp proved to me the program works. I felt welcome and received so much support from all the boot campers, especially the veterans who had been in the program for a while. My son and I fell in love with the program even though it was difficult at times. I was out of shape! All I kept thinking while enduring the pain was “I must be willing to fail in order to succeed.” We noticed a difference in many areas not just physically. Our minds are so powerful if we let them take over. Today, Brown’s Boot Camp continues to change lives and for that I am extremely thankful.
I used to use our weather as an excuse to not get out and stay active. We all have excuses! What’s yours? What if we use our excuses as reasons? My goal is to be able to PASS IT ON! To plant belief in those who want more and are willing to do more. Hello! My name is Matt. I’m a nutrition nerd who loves fitness and I’m always trying to make myself better and aspire to be a more well-rounded individual. I’ve known Randy and have participated in Brown’s Boot Camp off and on since 2008. I was always a fairly physically fit person growing up. I played various high school sports and was also a Collegiate Athlete for The University of Arizona Ice Cats. A recent graduate from College, I’m looking to help YOU become mentally and physically stronger. You see, we get caught up in our daily lives and forget about taking care of our bodies physically. What’s my job you ask? My job is to help you by providing side training in addition to Brown’s Boot Camp. You will learn functional, human movement that will make helping a friend move out of his or her apartment, or house feel like a breeze. Or perhaps, you’re wanting to get in shape for that BIG wedding day? Or how about that lovely, exotic vacation you have planned? Whatever the case may be, I can’t wait to start working with you. Let’s make this journey/goal grow and progress everyday.
SIMONE BROWN
Hi! My name is Simone and I have been with Randy and Brown’s Boot Camp since February 2012. Since I joined I have lost 30Lbs of body fat and 2.75 inches off my waist. I am proud to say I now have a six pack and wear clothes I never imagined I would wear.
My weight gain did not just happen overnight. My mother and sister are just naturally skinny women. I knew that I had to work hard to slim down. I have always been active, but as much physically active I was it was never enough. When I joined the program, they told me how to eat and when. I started to follow the nutrition plan and got results. Working out is only 25% of the equation. The other 75% is all nutrition. Not everyone wants to hear that, but it’s the truth. You can workout all you want, but if you don’t have a healthy diet you won’t get the results you want.
